Q: How did you discover Newgrounds?

A: I discovered NG via the youtube channel where some collabs are posted (the one that caught my eye was the one with among us lmao).

It was only later that I visited the site out of curiosity. I ended up discovering that the site is a platform for artists - and at the time I was kind of frustrated because of the low views my YouTube channel was getting. I initially opted to post my little things on the site to try and engage some movement on my youtube channel, but I ended up giving up on this idea after I got frontpage for the first time. 

Q: A story behind the name Meuny?

A: Meuny is a heteronym. A "persona" in which I seek to prioritise experimentation above all else. The name "meuny" is empty, it doesn't mean much, but emptiness is infinite, and it can also have an infinite meaning (easy answer: it's nice to say out loud lmao).

Q: How did you get interested in making music?

A: The story goes back to when I was very young. My father always tells me stories about how I begged him to teach me how to play the guitar. Unfortunately, I didn't have the motor skills and patience to learn to play the guitar until I was 11. My father always recommended rock bands and musicians that he was a big fan of (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Eric Clapton, Cream, Guns n' Roses, etc.), and because of this, I dreamed of making music from a very young age.

I only started writing my own songs when I was about 15 to 16 years old. Unfortunately I ended up losing my first song, but one of my first songs to be written ended up being frontpaged by NG (I Remain Hopeful), which is a song I wrote at a time when I was dealing with a series of personal problems.

Q: How did you get interested in making art?

A:Honestly, I only draw pictures when I'm in the depths of depression. I think it kind of fosters a duality of meuny, you know? My songs are almost always silly, funny, upbeat, etc., while, on the other hand, my drawings look like they came off the wall of an insane asylum rofl.

I started drawing because it is how I deal with the darkest side of me.

Q: Do you like making content?

A: Of course I do! I love sharing and commenting on other people's stuff! You see, I think I love this site because receiving and giving support creates such a friendly atmosphere.

Q: Do you have any experience with Newgrounds?

A: Yeah, I'm pretty used to it. I think It is one of my favorite sites to navigate through when I'm trying to find any good experimental piece to get inspired by.

Q: Any advice for people?

A: Art is to be and to do art is to become. So make your art the truest expression of yourself!
